Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship because I wanted to get into IT, however, having done finance at university, I didn’t have any official IT experience. This made it very hard to make the career change and without any guidance, I didn’t know where to start. I’ve had an interest in computers and IT for a while, but I need someone to help guide me in the right direction. IT Career Switch has been exactly what I needed to change my career.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
What I enjoyed the most was the flexibility in my learning. IT Career Switch gives you a year to complete the internal exam and the official CompTIA A+ exam which is more than enough time to cover the material. I was able to complete the course while working full time still. Being able to watch the videos on my phone made it easy to learn while on the bus.
What's your current role like?
Currently, I work as a Help desk Engineer. I am working on a support desk, resolving tickets for customers. I am learning a lot as part of my job as well as I am gaining experience with various sectors of IT, such as printers, phones networks and computers.
