Why did you start the Traineeship?
After doing some searching online, I came across IT Career Switch and decided to have a look at what they were about and started reading some reviews and success stories. I really liked the idea of it so I decided to go with IT Career Switch as I was struggling to get my foot in the door within the IT sector as many companies were looking for employees with previous experience. I have always had a massive interest in IT and it was something I wanted a successful career in. I thought this would be a good place to learn and with the guaranteed job placement at the end of it, it was a no brainer to get into the IT sector.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
What I enjoyed the most about the traineeship was the Live Labs. This enabled me to put the theory I had learned into practice and get the necessary hands on experience required to work in a real world IT environment. I also liked that at the end of every course, there were quizzes to make sure you understood everything before moving on to the next course.
What's your current role like?
My current role is very busy. My role varies day by day depending on where I am needed. My role includes building and repairing gaming PC’s, installing and configuring operating systems, providing support via phone, email and remote desktop. Also, monitoring helpdesk tickets inline with SLA’s. I have settled in really well and I am really enjoying the new career in IT. The future is very exciting as now I have my foot in the door, I can continue to learn and work my way up into the IT sector.
