Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship due to a switch-up in careers brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. I was working in Air Traffic Control and enjoyed working with technology, but I was looking for the right opportunity to help me learn in new areas and to further improve my understanding of IT. IT Career Switch from the outset looked a fantastic way for me to develop the necessary skills and regain employment as soon as possible – which is exactly what happened!
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
Many things of the traineeship were fantastic and delivered in a really accessible manner. You can work at your own pace which was ideal for me, who was looking for work asap but would also be ideal for those who are still working full time and can only study part-time. The course is spelt out for you from the beginning which helped me plan where I would like to be and by when. The tutors available are fantastic and always respond (sometimes in minutes) to any queries you have at any stage.
What's your current role like?
I am now an IT/Dialler Manager at a medium sized call centre in Manchester – it’s fast paced and demanding role but made easier by all of the fantastic content that was available in the courses and subsequent exams. I am delighted to be working again and delighted to have chosen IT Career Switch to help me get there!
