Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship as I’d spent the last 15 years doing retail management roles and fancied a change and a new career. IT has always been a big hobby of mine so it seemed the ideal choice of direction to move in. I found IT Career Switch had excellent reviews and were focussed not just on training and exams but also were committed to helping you find a job in the industry once you’d passed the exams.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I really enjoyed learning about new areas that as a home user I’d never needed to know before. It was interesting going into detail on things that I’d previously only skirted on the edges of and never really had a good understanding of.
What's your current role like?
My new role is a perfect starting place. Working on the service desk for NatWest means that I’m supporting users on not only familiar Windows applications but a whole range of banking specific applications that I’ve never seen before. It means that as well as being able to help end users there’s also plenty for me to learn and new challenges to rise to.
