Why did you start the Traineeship?
I decided to start the traineeship because I was looking to shift my career path from the brewing trade to web development. Although I had a degree in computer games programming, I was eager to expand my skills into full-stack web development. This traineeship seemed like the perfect opportunity to bridge my previous experience with my aspirations in a practical, hands-on way.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
The aspect of the traineeship that I enjoyed the most was the free learning environment and the flexibility it offered, allowing me to manage my own pace and schedule. The support from the tutors was invaluable, and I thrived on the larger projects towards the end of the course. These projects were not only challenging but also incredibly rewarding, as they allowed me to apply and solidify my learning in real-world scenarios.
What's your current role like?
My current role as a developer is fast-paced with a broad range of responsibilities. I’m actively coding in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, creating features and implementing fixes to live software. My focus is on meeting the evolving needs of customers in the education sector, which requires both a deep understanding of technical details and a creative approach to problem-solving. It’s a challenging yet exhilarating role where I get to see the direct impact of my work on our clients and their users.
