Why did you start the Traineeship?
After being made redundant during the pandemic I decided to finally put my university degree up to some use! I did need a quick refresher due to finishing university all the way back in 2017. Having been recommended for the traineeship through a friend I thought it was a good idea to gain new qualifications and knowledge which would give me a chance to start my new career in IT! The traineeship allowed me to study at my own pace which worked really well for me and I am eagerly looking to keep developing myself and finishing the traineeship this following year!
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I enjoyed the fact that you are given a long period of time to complete your qualifications, meaning that if you are busy with other things in your life, you can take the time to sort them out and come back to studying fully focused. That was very important for me when I decided to start the traineeship.
What's your current role like?
In my current role, I am 2nd line Helpdesk support specialist and have been there for just over a month now. I am settling in well and have a great group of colleagues around me. What I enjoy about the job is that I am doing a variety of different tasks which gives me the opportunity to really expand and develop my skill set. It’s a great first job in IT and I couldn’t ask for more.
