Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship when I was placed on furlough from my previous job. I knew I had to upskill myself to develop my career, as I was stuck in a customer service role for two years. When I was eventually made redundant, I didn’t panic as I had a strong feeling that the traineeship would land me in a new role soon after completion.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
The traineeship covers a wide variety of modules, from networking to Windows 10, whilst also going over the basics in troubleshooting common technical issues. This allowed me to gain a well-rounded understanding of potential IT problems faced on the job, and how to resolve them. The flexibility of the course is a bonus, being able to study whenever you want is extremely helpful.
What's your current role like?
Interesting. I am currently training on the job, so far I have learned how to image Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as being showed the ticketing system used to respond and resolve customer queries. Astreya outsources employees to client sites, so I am permanently based at Google! The work culture is great and lunch on the house every day is awesome!
