Why did you start the Traineeship?
Over time, Iโve developed a real passion for technology and how it shapes our world, but what really drives me is solving problems and making tech feel more accessible for everyone. I wanted a career where I could use that mindset every day and keep learning. The IT Career Switch Cyber Security Traineeship stood out because it didnโt just feel like a course, it felt like a genuine pathway. Their support has felt personal, not generic, and I could tell they really cared about helping people succeed.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I love how structured and goal-driven the programme is. It gave me a clear roadmap and let me build real confidence in my abilities, step by step. I also appreciated how flexible and practical it is, as opposed just theory, it’s focused on what actually matters in the real world. It gave me the foundation I needed to feel ready for my first role in IT.
What's your current role like?
Iโm now working on the helpdesk for Network Rail, and Iโve honestly felt nothing but respected and welcomed since day one. The companyโs values really align with mine, especially when it comes to integrity, continuous improvement, and making a real difference. I get to solve problems every day and support users across the business, and itโs a brilliant first step into IT and exactly the kind of start I was hoping for.
